Natural language processing

The group met with Rob Stewart and Angus Roberts (King’s College London) to talk about mental health data that is not currently routinely collected but could be useful for research. They discussed how this information could be extracted from medical records using a technique called ‘natural language processing’, or getting computers to ‘read’ text. The group are keen to continue the discussion about natural language processing with Angus and Rob in the spring.
