We’ve launched a new Mental Health Measures Map, providing an overview of the measures currently used across the DATAMIND ecosystem.
Mental health research studies often use different questionnaires, scales and assessment tools to collect similar information. This can make it difficult to compare findings, combine datasets and undertake large-scale analyses.
The map brings together measures used across the Core Mental Health Dataset (CMHDS) and Mental Health Platform Hubs (with more to be mapped in the future!), highlighting areas of commonality and variation, and identifying opportunities for greater harmonisation.
By making this information openly available, the map aims to support researchers, study teams and data custodians in selecting measures, understanding existing datasets and designing future studies. Greater consistency in measurement can also support data linkage and reuse, while helping to reduce unnecessary duplication of questionnaires and participant burden.
