The Super Research Advisory Group

We want patients and the public to have a direct voice in the running and direction of DATAMIND as a whole, as well as involvement in all its activities and themes. From the outset, the DATAMIND team agreed “we will work with patients and people with personal experience of mental illness to understand whom they trust to use their data, and to develop ways people can work together on mental health”. We decided that DATAMIND would develop a Super Research Advisory Group (SRAG) made up of people with personal experience of mental health illness (or those who care for people with a mental health illness). They would not only engage with members of the DATAMIND team but also with members of their communities and the general public. People with a wide range of ages, geographical locations, and ethnic backgrounds joined the group, and several had never been part of PPI groups before.

Read more about our story so far as the The Super Research Advisory Group and how they set out how to work together to change mental health. Some of whom have first-hand experience with mental health issues, either as patients or as carers for others.
