Lynne’s work bridges science, data, and creative practice. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and spent over a decade in statistical and human genetics research, including senior roles at the University of Aberdeen. She was Project Manager for Scotland’s contribution to the 100,000 Genomes Project, coordinating a multi-institutional collaboration across NHS and academic partners. She is also current chair of the board of a national arts organisation, where she led a successful bid to secure multi-year funding from Creative Scotland.
With a portfolio career, Lynne now combines her scientific expertise with creative methodologies to communicate complex data. She supports creative business development, sustainable entrepreneurship and innovative story-telling. Her data-informed artistic practice explores genomics, health, and identity, and has been featured in public exhibitions, academic forums, and national media. She has secured substantial funding across both scientific and creative domains and brings extensive experience in research dissemination, trans-disciplinary engagement, and cross-sector project management.
In her role with DATAMIND, based at the University of Edinburgh, Lynne is focused on sustainable and creative development of cross-sector collaborations across the ecosystem of mental health research that will maximise benefits for people with lived experience of severe mental illness.
