Naomi is a research fellow in the Division of Psychiatry at UCL. Her research interests centre around how having a mental health condition affects physical health. She has over 10 years’ experience of using routine data, and her skills include the use of nascent statistical, epidemiological and data science methodologies to answer complex questions with clinical and public policy impact.
Naomi is currently funded by an HDR UK Big Data for Complex Diseases Driver Programme personal fellowship. Her fellowship aims to use a range of electronic health record data from across the UK to better understand cancer and cardiovascular disease screening, diagnosis and outcomes in people with severe or complex mental illness.
Naomi completed her PhD at UCL, in which she used primary and secondary care records to investigate the physical health and healthcare use of people with severe mental illness. She has previously worked for Public Health England, as well as not-for-profit organisations. She has an MSc in Control of Infectious Disease from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
