Professor Simon Murphy is the Director of DECIPHer, Centre for Development, Evaluation, Complexity and Implementation in Public Health Improvement. DECIPHer brings together leading experts from a range of disciplines to tackle public health issues such as mental health and wellbeing, positive social relationships, diet and nutrition, physical activity and tobacco, alcohol and drugs, with a particular focus on developing and evaluating multi-level system approaches that will have an impact on the health and wellbeing of children and young people. He also leads the School Health Research Network, a policy, practice, public research partnership established in 2013 that spans secondary and primary schools across Wales and has supported the development of SHRN across the UK and internationally . This work supports a programme of work on schools and mental health, which he coleads as part of The Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health
