Vanessa is the co-founder and research director at the McPin Foundation, a UK-based mental health research charity specialising in peer research, coproduction and patient and public involvement (PPI) in research. Vanessa is a health services researcher by background, having a PhD from University of Nottingham in Geography. She has worked in universities, including Kings College London and charities such as Rethink Mental Illness before establishing McPin over 10 years ago. The research supported by McPin covers the bio-psycho-social research continuum and any mental health issues in youth and adult populations. During DataMInd1 staff at McPin co-developed a data literacy course with the DataMind lived experience group. In DataMind2 more modules will be coproduced.
