Winter update from our LEAG

Here is an update from Naomi Clements-Brod, Patient and Public Involvement Research Lead here at DATAMIND:

The Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG) have had a busy Autumm!

Here’s just some of what we’ve been up to:

  •  We met with two researchers in October to speak about two different projects: one looking at relationships between physical and mental health and one about suicide and self-harm. We gave advice about their research plans and how they can incorporate more public input in their work.
  •  We also met with the Lived Experience Advisory Panel for the AMBER project, and shared about why we got involved in research, what we’ve gotten out of it and advice that we would give to other experts by experience.
  •  In October, we received £14.9k in additional funding from HDRUK PEDRI to work with creative professionals to make a public-friendly version of the Industry Guidelines, which are currently available here (https://doi.org/10.1101/2025.11.05.25339575)  as a pre-print.
  • Additionally, we have been helping revamp the DATAMIND glossary, providing input into new terms and putting old terms into a standardised format to make the glossary even more accessible and easily searchable.
  • Finally, we recruited 3 fantastic new members and we have been busy getting them up to speed on DATAMIND throughout November and December. We are excited to properly welcome them to the Group in January!
